Three Bears Porridge
(from _Whole Foods for the Whole Family) 3 cups boiling water or scalded milk 1/2 cup cracked wheat plus 1/2 cup rolled oats or other grains to total 1 cup of grain 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/4 cup raisins optional: 1/4 cup dry milk powder 1/4 cup dried fruit 1/4 cup chopped apple 1/4 cup bran 1/4 to 1/2 cup wheat germ 2 tblsp. soy flour or soy grits 1/2 cup sunflower seeds Bring water to boil in saucepan. Add everything, including any selected optional items. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Bring back to boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 10-15 minutes (depending on grains). Add honey to taste, if desired.
