Plum Kuchen Muffins
-- From Granny's Muffin House by Susan Ashby, Beverly -- Hills, CA: Royal House Publishing Co., 1983, -- ISBN# 0-930440-18-8 2 c flour 1 T baking powder 1/2 t salt 2/3 c sugar 1 egg, beaten 1/2 c milk 1/2 c sour cream 1/3 c butter, melted 2 t grated lemon rind 1 1/2 c chopped plums, peeled and stoned 3/4 c walnuts, chopped 1/3 c sugar 1/3 c flour 1/4 t salt 1/4 t cinnamon 3 T butter Preheat oven to 400 deg F. Sift together the first 4 ingredients. Stir in the egg, milk, sour cream, and butter, just until moistened. Fold in the lemon rind and plums. Fill paper-lined muffin tins full; set aside. Combine the remaining ingredients and blend until crumbly. Sprinkle over muffins and bake approximately 20 minutes. Makes 12 muffins.
