2026.04.30 Returning to Canada

What a great season we had in New Orleans. We always enjoy our stay at Chalmette RV Park in Chalmette, LA.

We started our trip Monday morning.  We tied everything down, brought in the slides and headed out.  Our first stop was to Jennings Ferry Campground in Akron ,AL  We had some leftover Red Beans and Rice for dinner.

The next morning we left early and enjoyed the scenery on our way to Unhitched RV in Nashville, TN.  We had an issue with the large slide and had to work on it in the pouring rain.  We finally fixed it, connected everything and went inside to enjoy some hot chocolate and cookies.

Wednesday morning we left Nashville and headed to out third spot for the night at By the Bay.  It was a little off our path in Patriot, IN.

Thursday morning we had more issues with our slide and D'Arcy worked for an hour trying to get it in properly.  Finally we had to travel with the back part out a few inches.  That was the longest daily distance we did at over 400 miles.

Finally, we ended up in our home park, Wildwood Golf and RV Resort, at about 5:30.  It was still light so D'Arcy parked in our spot right away.  He did an excellent job parking perfectly on the first try.  I helped leading him in.

The first thing we did was to contact Willie, our mobile repair guy.  The slide issue was supposed to have been fixed in Chalmette but it was not fixed properly.  Willie is going to inspect it and let us know exactly what is wrong.  It cost over $1,000 to fix.  Luckily we had purchased a warranty which covered it.

Now we are settled in our spot until next season.  Life is an adventure for sure.

Settled in McGregor, ON
