2025.11.03 Problems on our trip to New Orleans

We didn't have the best experience this year.  On the way down we had to stop is Tuscaloosa, AL due to a broken spring.

It all started fine.  We left Leisure RV where the trailer was washed and the tires checked.   We parked in a Walmart parking lot for a few hours so that we would cross the border after midnight.  The border crossing went very smoothly.  We were prepared with the new forms but they didn't even ask.  They asked a few questions and then we were on our way.

We parked in a Cracker Barrel in Perrysburg, OH until they opened for breakfast.  Then we headed south and stayed at Grandma's RV Park in Shepherdsville, KY.  We continued south and stayed in Helena, AL that night,

The next morning we headed out again expecting to finish most, if not all, of the trip.  We didn't get very far.  We had to pull over on Highway 20 because a spring had broke.  This caused a piece of metal to scrape our brand new tire so besides fixing the spring we also have to change the tire.

While sitting on the side of the road, somehow our window was smashed.  We don't know exactly why.  So now we need to fix that too.

Since that wasn't enough, we also had a problem with the bedroom slide.  It came out by itself and would not go in.  D'Arcy had to change something with the wiring so that the extend button would retract it.  Need to get that looked at too now.

Here's hoping that the rest of our trip goes a lot smoother.
