2017.12.25 Our Holidays in New Orleans

On Christmas Eve D'Arcy took me to The Gumbo Shop at 630 Saint Peter Street for a Réveillon dinner. There was a line up to get in, but it was so worth the wait. In fact we ate there on our first trip to New Orleans which was last year. We ate a little too much but enjoyed it. The bread pudding had raisins in it just like Mom used to make except Mom did not put whiskey in hers.

We walked on Frenchmen street where everyone called D'Arcy and me Santa and Mrs. Claus. We stopped off to see our friend Marcelle at his music store then we listened to a band at "BMC" which stands for Balcony Music Club. Then we called it a night.

On Christmas Day the weather in New Orleans was only going up to 12°. We tried skypeing with Robert and Laura, Norma and Peter but the Internet was very busy and it did not work so well. We will try again another day. We phoned Alan.

We went to "DMac's Bar & Grill" where D'Arcy sat in on bass and keyboard.

I hope Santa was good to all of you. We got ourselves a new Blu-Ray DVD player and receiver.
