Peanut Butter Granola Bars

from Canadian Living Magazine, October 1990

1 cup smooth PB  (250 ml)
1/2 cup packed brown sugar  (125 ml)
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/3 cup butter/margarine, softened  (75 ml)
2 tsp vanilla      (10 ml)
3 cups quick-cooking rolled oats  (750 ml)
1/2 cup flaked sweetened coconut  (125 ml)
1/2 cup salted sunflower seeds    (125 ml)
1/2 cup raisons   (125 ml)
1/3 cup wheat germ  (75 ml)
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips (optional)  (175 ml)

Cream PB, sugar, corn syrup, butter and vanilla until smooth.
Stir in oats, coconut, sunflower seeds, raisins and wheat germ.
Mix well.  Stir in choc. chips.  Pat into greased 13 x 9" (3 L)
baking dish.  Bake in 350??F (180??C) oven for 20 to 25 mins. or
until light golden brown.  Let cool on rack.  Makes 32 bars.
