Baked Beans
1 lb. White Navy Beans 1 small-med. onion sliced 1/2 tablespoon salt (optional) 2 teaspoons cider vinegar 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard 1 tablespoon brown sugar 1/4 cup mild-flavour molasses 12 cup tomato ketchup pinch black pepper 1/4 lb. salt pork or bacon, sliced (optional) To soften, soak the beans in a pot of water overnight. Drain the water and refill with fresh, cold water. Bring to the point where they just start to boil on high without the cover on. Half cover the beans and simmer until bean is soft. Place in crock pot and simmer on low for 7 hours.
