2018.02.18 Brunch on the Mississippi

Last updated: None
It was a beautiful morning as we prepared for our Jazz Brunch aboard the steamship Nachez. We left early so we parked on Frenchmen Street and saw our friend Demi and her band as we passed Vaso's where she was playing.

We boarded at Toulouse Street and Decatur near the French Quarter for a two hour cruise and brunch down the Mighty Mississippi River on a stream driven paddle-wheel boat called the Natchez.

We had a Rum Punch then we had a delicious brunch. D'Arcy and I had brown sugar pineapple glazed ham, Scrambled Eggs with spinach and cherry tomatoes, turkey sausage patties and biscuits and gravy. I had to leave room for white chocolate bread pudding.

After brunch we walked to the stern and listened to enjoy the great sounds of Duke Heitger's Steamboat Stompers. Then we ventured out on deck to take pictures and then we climbed to the upper deck where we met people from England.

After we ended a great cruise we took the trolley from Toulouse to Esplanade where we went to Vaso's to enjoy the music of Tip Jar Junkies. As we were passing by the open window Mike the guitar player asked D'Arcy where his harps were so I went into Vaso's and sat down while D'Arcy went to the truck to get his harps.

Tip Jar Junkies asked D'Arcy up on stage to play harps he received applause for that and someone even bought us drinks because she enjoyed his playing so much. Later, Curt asked D'Arcy to replace him on bass for a few songs,

We headed home to our RV after spending a perfect day in New Orleans.
