2018.01.26 Happy Birthday Dr. Wilder Penfield

This girl was born in 1950 in Saint Mary's hospital in Montreal and was on the operating table at 9 days old being operated on by Dr. Wilder Penfield. When this girl was born the doctor told her mother to give her a name before she died. Her mother named her Mary and when her mother found out the little girl would live she called the little girl Carol. Then the Doctor said I would not walk but this girl is very stubborn . It took her 8 years but she walked.
As you may have guessed, that little girl was me. I was born with cerebral palsy. I also had eye problems which is why Dr. Penfield operated on me. I still have problems but at least I can see now.
Now I am happily married to my handsome husband D'Arcy Cain for forty-six years thanks to the work by Dr. Penfield and others.
