Chocolate Banana Cake
3 cups flour 2 cups sugar 1/4 tsp soda 1 cup buttermilk 1/2 stick butter 1 tbsp Crisco Blend flour and soda. Melt butter and Crisco together. Combine ingredients. Pour about 1/4 inch batter into 9" round cake pan. Bake five layers. 1 lb powdered sugar 4 tbsp cocoa 1/4 stick butter brewed coffee as needed Melt butter. Combine sugar, butter and cocoa. Add liquid coffee until medium thick. 5 cake layers chocolate-coffee icing 5-8 bananas store-bought chocolate icing (or your own) pecans and marischino cherries for decoration Build five-layer cake: cake layer/top with coffee icing/top THAT with solid layer of sliced bananas. On fifth layer, ice entire outside of cake with chocolate icing. Decorate top edge with alternate pecans and marischino cherries.
